My Grandfather Bud Doetsch started Custom Mattress back in 1978.  We used to manufacture beds in the building next door to us (now Custom Financial) and my grandfather sold the manufacturing part of the business and it moved out to New Haven.

 My Uncle Gabe and Aunt Margie purchased the retail store from my grandfather back in 1995. And around that time the famous tag line was born.  Gabe kept getting friends and random people coming up to him and telling him that they purchased a mattress at his store on Illinois Rd, or other various locations around Fort Wayne. So Gabe was talking to somebody about producing a new commercial, and they were thinking about how to get people to Goshen Rd. and that's when he came up with "If You're Not On Goshen Rd, You're In The WRONG Place".   With Gabe's Tennessee accent the tag line stuck.  It is now one of the most recognizable slogans in North East Indiana.

I (Jared) Purchased the business from my Uncle Gabe and Aunt Margie in 2005.  Since then we have done a lot of remodeling (new parking lot, new signage, ect.)  We have added one of the top mattress companies to our already great selection Tempurpedic. And we are continuing to grow every year.

Now June 2008 we now have the all 9 models of Tempurpedic on the floor!!  You can try them all before you buy.

I'm married to Lacie (Siefer) and we have two girls Elise and Ella.  I was born in Fort Wayne in 1977 and grew up in Waynedale.  I graduated from Wayne HS in 1996 and earned a scholarship for Football to Ball State and I earned my BS Degree in 2000. I have worked for the family business since 1993, through high school and some college, and started working here full time in 2003. And that was when my Uncle said that he wanted retire,  Gabe said that he is going to sell the business to family or he's going to close shop, so I took my opportunity.
